Kansas City Chiefs Merchandise

Representing the state of Missouri, the Kansas City Chiefs participate in the American Football Conference in the NFL. They migrated their home base in 1963 from Dallas, Texas to Missouri in order to attract a wider, less biased fan-base. Prior to this move, they had to compete with the Dallas Cowboys--a well-established professional team, even in spite of their losing record at the time--for ticket sales, local crowds and national attention. The move proved a success, and the Chiefs continued to dominate right out of the franchise starting gate, winning AFC championships in 1962, 1966, and 1969 and beating the Minnesota Vikings in the 1970 Super Bowl. However, despite their drought of success (they ended the 2008 season with a 2-14 record), they've maintained one of the most intense, loyal followings in professional football over the years.
