Rory Cumming, CEO |
| Rory Cumming is an interactive industry veteran with more than 15 years broad ranging experience. A qualified expert in interactive and email marketing, search and e-commerce, Cumming possesses particularly deep experience in the publishing and advertising fields. As CEO of ShopWiki, Rory is responsible for driving business growth using ShopWiki's innovative technology. This technology has enabled ShopWiki to aggregate the largest and most comprehensive product database on the Internet boasting more than 240 million items from more than 220,000 online retailers around the world. He is also charged with directing ShopWiki's expansion into new global markets including the UK, France and Australia and for developing new business, partnerships and traffic growth. Prior to ShopWiki, Rory was vice president of online marketing at Rodale Inc. where he was responsible for all online marketing and subscription activities for the Internet channel. While there, he dramatically increased Web site traffic and revenue. He also created an ad operations group to improve business performance of the company's display advertising revenue stream and oversaw Rodale's content syndication efforts. Before Rodale, Rory held the role of general manager, PCH.com at Publishers Clearing House. There, he directed all interactive business activities and under his supervision the Interactive division reached profitability for the first time in its history. At the beginning of his career, Rory spent more than 8 years in various direct marketing and interactive roles at The Columbia House Company. Eliot Horowitz, Chief Scientist & Co-Founder |
| Eliot is the chief engineer of ShopWiki's breakthrough crawling technology. In January 2005, he began developing the crawling and data extraction algorithm that is the core of ShopWiki's innovative technology. Eliot was recently named one of BusinessWeek.com's "Top 25 Entrepreneurs Age 25 and Under." Prior to ShopWiki, Eliot was a software developer in the R&D group at DoubleClick. In 2004, Eliot won DoubleClick's employee coding tournament that was designed to highlight the competitors' relative skills in the analysis of complex algorithmic problems and the ability to write software to solve those problems. Eliot received a B.S. in Computer Science from Brown University. He conducted research in artificial intelligence focusing on robotic mapping and navigation. He developed a novel algorithm for mapping spaces using a combination of support vector machines and adaboost that allows more precise navigation of office environments. James Keating, VP of Marketing & International |
| James Keating, a successful sales and marketing executive with more than fifteen years experience, joined ShopWiki in February 2007. Prior to ShopWiki, James was Vice President of Partnerships at Guidester (now Searchandise), building relationships with key advertisers such as Samsung and Olympus and retail partners such as Buy.com and TigerDirect. James has also held the post of Director of Publisher Sales and Marketing at LinkShare, the online affiliate marketing technology company in New York. At Linkshare, James was responsible for managing the publisher account management team, designing and instituting compensation plans, and implementing sales training. As National Sales Manager at ThomasRegister, James lead the generation of over $42,000,000 of revenue during his four-year tenure. He is also one of only a few thousand people in this world who has traveled to all seven continents across the globe. He earned a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Scranton and an MBA at Fordham University with a dual concentration in marketing and finance receiving honors in both disciplines. Kevin P. Ryan, one of Silicon Alley's most well known Internet entrepreneurs, has started six New York-based businesses - Silicon Alley Insider, Gilt Groupe, Music Nation, Panther Express, ShopWiki and 10gen in the past two years. He presently serves as chairman and CEO of AlleyCorp. Prior to AlleyCorp, Kevin was first president then later became CEO of DoubleClick. There, he was instrumental in building the company from a 20-person startup to a global leader with over 1500 employees. Silicon Alley Reporter voted DoubleClick "New York Company of the Year" and Kevin was named one of the "50 Most Influential Business People" by Crain's New York Business. Aside from his professional responsibilities, Kevin serves on the boards of Human Rights Watch and the NYC Investment Fund and is a member of the Insead International Council, the Yale International Council and the Council on Foreign Relations. He was the first investor in TheLadders.com and previously served on the boards of the Direct Marketing Association, The Ad Council and Hotjobs, and the advisory board of Doctors Without Borders. | Dwight is one of the leading engineering minds in the Internet realm, with a track record of solving some the industry's most complex problems. In 1995, Dwight co-founded DoubleClick and served as its CTO for ten years. Dwight was the architect of the DoubleClick ad serving infrastructure known as DART, which serves billions of ads per day on many of the largest sites on the Internet. Prior to DoubleClick, Dwight worked as a software developer in the R&D group at DCA/Attachmate in Atlanta, Georgia. In 2005, Dwight also co-founded the Panther Express content delivery network. He is also a board member of the web photo/video sharing company Phanfare. Dwight received a B.S. with honors in Systems Analysis from Miami University of Ohio. Avery Rosen brings his 15 years of experience in Internet technologies to running ShopWiki's top-notch technology teams. He is responsible for driving ShopWiki's Engineering, Operations, and Quality Assurance teams. Prior to ShopWiki, he coordinated DoubleClick's Adserver Engineering team with other technology teams at the company, Project Management, and clients. He directed work integrating the adserver with AOL's systems during the landmark integration project. Avery earned a B.A in Computer Science from Brown University, where he specialized in systems and network programming. He got his start in internet technology in 1995, programming and managing technical support at Public Access Networks, New York City's 1st ISP. |
