Books for Teens Buying Guide

Most teenagers dread books. Books mean homework, papers, presentations, and boredom. Reading doesn't ''have'' to be boring, though. While some of the books teens are forced to read are dreadfully snoozeable, action packed, and super entertaining.

Book Series

Once you get your teens hooked on one book of a series, it's a done deal. They are guaranteed to read every book and then about a dozen similar series; and pretty soon they will have morphed into the rare species known as 'avid book lover.' It's a great way to get them engaged in reading. If you're lucky, they'll start asking for books instead of video games and rediscover that giant building full of books known as a library. Here's a few popular ones currently out: * The Vampire Diaries by L.J. Smith * Maximum Ride by James Patterson * The Clique by Lisi Harrison * Fear Street Nights by R.L. Stine * Gossip Girl by Cecily Von Ziegesar * Percy Jackson and the Olympians by Rick Riordan * Net Force by Tom Clancy
