This particular red is obviously well-crafted, an easy-to-like new friend if you haven't yet played with Cape vino. It's medium-bodied and velvety smooth, with pure red raspberry and cherry fruit. A kiss of pepper spice and vanillin oak bring it close to a modern Rhône in style. No need to struggle with food affinities: its moderate weight and dryness make it an elegant all-purpose red. - Master Sommelier Madeline Triffon, The Detroit News

The cellar was established in modest style, with equipment found in surprising places an Italian press in an English vineyard, a crusher in a Devon Valley vineyard.

Well, we have all heard of fair trade coffee, but this is a first for Canada, fair trade wine. Winds of Change is an organic vineyard determined to make a change in not only how grapes are grown, but how vineyard workers are treated. Fair trade stands for fairness and global social responsibility. Grape growers are assured a fair price for their grapes and so are better able to achieve greater quality of living.

“Not just a Pinot noir, but a classic, origin expressive wine, Hamilton Russell Vineyards Pinot noir is different to most New World Pinot noirs. Our low-vigour, stony, clay-rich soil, cool maritime mesoclimate, naturally tiny yields of around 35 hl/ha and our philosophy of expressing our terroir in our wines – give rise to a certain tightness, tannin line and elevated length to balance the richness and generosity of our Pinot noir. Our Pinot noir is not overtly fruity, soft and “sweet” and it generally...
