Mourvèdre is a rare grape in California and we prod uce four distinct bottlings: two rich, red table wines (Ancient Vines Mourvèdre and Small Berry Mourvèdre), a chewy dessert wine (Late Harvest Mourvèdre) and this lovely Rosé. In a wonderful tradition of rosés found in Portugal, Spain, Italy and France, this wine served well-chilled is perfect on its own, is refreshing at a picnic at the beach and marries extremely well with food. Mouth-filling with hints of pomegranate and plum, it’s an ideal accompaniment...

This vineyard has always shown intense concentration of flavors due, in part, to the miniscule yields that are received there. Tobacco, plum, and eucalyptus-mint dominate this wine. With plenty of flesh and a firm balanced structure of acid and fine-grained tannins, Cline Cellars 2005 Small Berry Mourvèdre is delicious now and will age beautifully for many years to come.

We picked a classic mix of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvedre grapes in Gard , France , on the west side of the Rhуne river, for the foundation of this example of Southern Rhуne -style wine. The French juices were augmented with Syrah concentrate from California to add body and depth of flavour.
