My Favorite Chasing Hammer

Overall length 11", 28mm slightly rounded face diameter with a 4 oz weight. Not to heavy and not to light. . . . .just right! The nice large face is great for striking chasing tools or flattening without missing. The ball side is perfect for riveting and metal design. The forged head is wedge mounted on the hardwood handle. Our 1" Chasing Hammer was designed for hammering patterns and working with precious metals. In addition, we have found that it is an excellent plane adjusting hammer for tapping out the back of the blade and for adjusting the cutting depth during use.

Use either face of this hammer to harden and flatten wire (please tap gently on Artistic Wire). The flat face is larger than our other chasing hammer - 1-1/4" inch in diameter. We love the bigger face of this hammer, since it facilitates the hammering of an entire wire design in one hit. This helps to flatten the design, but not mark it, avoiding a "hammered" finish.
